Ben Haggerty, Formally known as Macklemore has a new interesting song that isn't like the typical rap song a young teen from washington dc may consider listening to during their free time , but in this case Macklemore has done a phenomenal job. His new song entitled "White Privilege ll"  is not just a song but a relevant topic that many are scared to talk about, let alone rap about. this single has created much controversy among different races, White and Black to be particular. For a White 32 year old man from Seattle Washington to speak on "white privilege" and black lives matter reveals he is a courageous artist who is not afriad to take risk for the better good.

Nicki Minaj (Pink Friday)

The Harajuku Barbie, Onika Tanya Maraj dropped her debut album released by Young Money on November 19th, 2010. This breakthrough album had tremendous reviews and feedback, and won the American Favorite Rap/ Hip Hop album which is unusual for a new artist. In her song entitled "Moment for Life" the female rapper, Nicki Minaj  foreshadows her upcoming success and prosperity. a verse in the song that conveys this states "Everything they deprived me ofPut your drinks up It's a celebration every time we link upWe done did everything they could think of Greatness is what we on the brink of"

This album was the start of something new for Nicki Minaj. she was a young artist with untapped talent and her main goal was to get discovered. Before she had an actual album she had multiple mix tapes such as "Play time is Over", "Barbies Back" and "Sucka Free" which were more lyrically hard core and not meant for a broader audience. In her previous songs she may have came off as very promiscuous and Street which isn't something that everyone may relate to or decide to hear. Though she has some of those components in Pink Friday her album is more versatile and her songs have more than just one theme. You can see the transition that has taken place within her music and appearance as her career progressed and she began to have a broader fan base.

Nicki Minaj has Won BET's "Best Female rap artist" multiple times and though she receives the award every year like its her first she never forgets  to thank her fans because she knows that they are what helped her get to the top. she states "I value and honor the fans" Minaj is the next big thing after Salt and Pepper or Lil Kim and though they are all female rap artist they never followed in one another foot steps making Nikki Minaj the Female rap artist of her time and she has yet to disappoint. She changes the mood from soft to hardcore repeatedly. She allows her listeners to follow her journey with her. In her interview with billboard she stated "Love it or hate, this is me" "I value and honor the fans"

Nicki Minaj is slowly climbing the charts. Nikki Minaj album sold 2.1 million copies in the US to date. This is also a first for Nikki with all this good feedback from her the albums to come should be a surprise for her fans.
