Mary J. Blige released her second album "My life" on November 29, 1994. My Life was considered her break through album. Like many artist, Mary J Blige has a story to tell. This album was dropped during a rough time in her life. She was still young and trying to establish herself in life the best way she knew possible and though she encountered some bumps in the road she overcame those obstacles in due time. Sean Combs also known as Puffy helped produce this phenomenal one of a kind album. In 1995 My Life won the "Best R&B album" award. Also this album was ranked number 57 of the 100 greatest American albums of all-time by Blender Magazine.
This album was very unique due to the fact that the power of her voice evoked the emotion of how she was feeling. This album will always be one of the best because it's an original and there is no other album that sounds like this. This thoroughly planned album is the kind that makes you emotional even if you feel fine.
